Athlon 64 FX-60 has just with its name created a lot of discussions. That AMD went from FX-57 directly to FX-60 indicated that there was something more than just the frequency that had been increased with the new monster circuit and  it was speculated whether it would be the first FX-processor with dual cores. These rumours were later replaced by other rumours stating that we are dealing with a 3.0GHz single core model. However now The Inquirer claims that FX-60 will use two cores working at 2.6GHz. 200MHz faster than the two cores of Athlon 64 X2 4800+ but the same time 200MHz less than the single core processor FX-57. FX-60 are suppose to be available for AMD’s partners already and if this information is correct it really shows that AMD is going out strong with the dual core concept.
