AMD doesn’t seem to give Intel all headlines in January next year as it has planned to launch its sequel to today’s Athlon 64 FX-57 early next year. Now it seems that we have an actual date for AMD’s next extreme end processor, namely January 10, 2006. If this is correct it is just a week before Intel is expected to launch its new Extreme Edition processor based on 65nm technology. There is still no one who knows the exact specifications for Athlon 64 FX-60, but the latest rumours states that it will be the first FX processor with dual cores, whcih to be honest wouldn’t be much a surprise.
