Athlon 64 FX-57 will be AMD’s flagship on the single core processormarket and the option for those who wants more power in e.g. games. The FX-series has always consisted out of one model and when the next arrives the latter is phased out. Today it’s FX-55 that’s king of the hill but in a few weeks the replacement will arrive. Athlon 64 FX-57 uses AMD’s latest 90nm core, Venice, and will be the first FX-model to be made with 90nm technology. Other than that it’s only the frequency that has changed since last time, FX-57 works at the impressive 2.8GHz compared to the 2.6GHz FX-55 works at.
