ASUS was first to show its Ultrabooks and now both UX21 and UX31 have been listed, whereof the latter in two varieties. It looks like at least two of the models will stick below, or around the magic $1000. UX31 is a 13.3″ model with an attractive resolution, which is unusual today.
These Ultrabooks have been in the news for some time, but it looks like both Acer and ASUS are missing the promised September launch. ASUS UX21 and UX31 have perhaps been the models most have been waiting for, and Notebook Italia have acquired prices and specifications for these models in three varieties.
The entire UX series comes with integratedIntel HD 3000 graphics, two Bang & Olufsen ICEpower speakers, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0, D-Sub, mini HDMI, mini DisplayPort, and 6-cell battery where it promises up to 7 hours battery time. Both UX21 and UX31 measures only 17 mm in profile, and is built into unibody chassis in brushed aluminum. All processor models have 17W TDP, which is more or less a must for the ultrathin formfactor.
ASUS UX21 gets a 11.6″ screen and weighs only 1.1 kg. The screen is LED backlit and has the standard resolution 1366 x 768, Intel Core i5-2467M with two cores at 1.6 GHz, 2.3 GHz in Turbo mode and HyperThreading. It also gets 4 GB RAM and 64 GB SSD. The price will be €799.

The more expensive UX31 will sport an Intel Core i7-2677M with two cores at 1.8GHz, 2.9 GHz in Turbo mode and HyperThreading. Also this one has 4 GB RAM, but gets a much bigger SSD at 256 GB. The price will be €1199.
