Apple is contrary to what many may think not immune to virus and security breaches, something Apple itself announced earlier this week by releasing an extensive update for its Mac OS X operating system. The affected operating system is Mac OS X v10.3.9 (not Tiger). A set of 19 security fixes has been included in the update and the security company Secunia rates the fixes as very critical. It varies from leaks in the image handling of the TIFF-format to the use of Bluetooth. Most users have already received and installed the update automatically but to others you can fetch the patch from Apple’s homepage.
