Apple has taken the better safe than sorry road and stopped shipping the new 27″ iMac after numerous reports on faulty displays and worse. Apple is said to hold off further deliveries until a solution has been found, or several as the statistics at imac.squeaked.com points to many problems. Over 700 consumers have had some kind of problem with their new 27″ iMac and this is of course anything but good for Apple, no matter if the numbers are correct or not things don’t like good.

The information is collected from Apple’s own support forum by Scott Pronych who then created the site imac.squeaked.com and the number of reports grow fast.

Apple has without comment changed the delivery time of the new 27″ iMac from 5-7 days to 2 weeks and have refused to answer any specific questions regarding the display problems we have heard so many reports on.

More information on the problems and Apple’s delivery times can be found at Computerworld.com.
