AMD Phenom hasn’t experienced the smoothest of launches as the chip manufacturer’s first quad-core processor architecture hasn’t just been delayed, but also had problems with measuring up to Intel’s processor series. AMD is working on improving its lineup hoping to once again compete at even terms with Intel. The high-end Phenom models have been postponed over and over again, for example Phenom 9700 was suppose to launch back in December, but looking back we can safely say that things didn’t go as planned.

According to a fresh AMD roadmap published by the people at VR-Zone, AMD will not only launch Phenom 9700 (2.4GHz) but also Phenom 9900 (2.6GHz) and perhaps even the first Phenom FX CPU. There are no details surrounding Phenom FX, but hopefully it will work at a respectable frequency, whatever that may be.
