AMD is said to have set a date for the mass production of the anticipated Fusion APU Llano – July 2011. The processor that will be the first for desktops sporting integrated graphics has been delayed many times, lastly because of the 32nm technology.

Llano will build on AMD’s Phenom II architecture but get a DirectX 11 graphics processor on the silicon, which in time will change PCs radically since both Intel and AMD offers processors with relatively powerful graphics circuits for mid-range computers.

AMD is planning three Llano circuits for launch in Q3 2011 and the top models – Beavercreek -that operates in the 65W and 100W envelopes will sport three or four processor cores. The third model is called Winterpark and houses two cores and consumes at most 65W. All three models supports DirectX 11 and comes with AMD’s latest UVD3 media processor.

While the new Llano processors for the mid-range segment is expected to reach the market in Q3 AMD’s new performance architecture Bulldozer will be ready for launch in Q2 2011. Then sporting a new and fresh architecture, but without the integrated graphics found in Llano.
