AMD has rolled out the tenth graphics driver of the year and Catalyst 10.10 appears fittingly for the release of the Radeon HD 6800 series that launched earlier in the week. The new drivers support AMD’s new graphics card and technologies like HD3D.

AMD has with Radeon HD 6800 taken up the hunt for NVIDIA’s 3D Vision technology with its own technology. AMD HD3D supports stereoscopic 3D in numerous different configurationer and AMD says that its open eco system makes it easier for consumers to find the best solutions.

The new drivers supports both playback of Blu-ray 3D and 3D gaming through 3D conversion software like DDD or iZ3D. To use the support you need a graphics card from the Radeon HD 5000 or HD 6000 series and a compatible 3D monitor and 3D glasses.

More information on the requirements for HD3D can be found at AMD’s dedicated HD3D site.
