AMD 4×4 is the highly debated solution and answer to Intel’s launch of its first quad-core for the retail market; Kentsfield. The discussions have been many and hot, but now we at least have an answer to one of the things that have been plauging people and caused quite big outbursts of feelings among possible buyers and other enthusiasts. AMD 4×4 will use Socket 1207 and this is normally used by AMD’s Opteron processors and with them ECC/REG memories. But 4×4 will actually not use these type of memories if we’ve interpreted the pictures HardwareUpgrade has managed to take of the system during WCG in Italy correct.
