One of the latest fads among component makers is to use extra copper in the circuit boards. This is said to improve cooling and spread the heat across a greater area. We have seen several manufacturers use the technology with both motherboards and graphics cards, and now A-DATA has injected more copper copper into its latest DDR3 modules. A-DATA XPG Plus DDR3-2200+ v2.0 is, according to the company self, the world’s fastest memory modules rated at 2200MHz.

The timings are specified at 8-8-8-24 and are available as 2GB and 4GB kits (2x1GB and 2x2GB). The operating voltage is set to low 1.65V.

Through the latest Thermal Conductive Technology (TCT), the XPG Plus Series DDR3-2200 v2.0 DRAM module is built with the superior cooling design, which able to provide greater cooling environment for both DRAM IC and PCB (printed circuit board), to improve the performance and greater stability.

It has doubled the amount of copper of the PCB, which will not only lower temperatures but also improve efficiency.

Since the modules are delivered in dual-channel kits it looks like A-DATA is targeting Intel’s P55 and AMD’s Socket AM3 platform.
