Circuit maker SiS has announced a new chipset for Intel’s Atom processors and as expected it is a really slim solution, both format and price. SiS672/968 chipset house all the basic features like integrated graphics, WiFi, SATA2 and HD audio. SiS’ new chipset has already been adopted by Pegatron who will launch a superslim nettop with the SiS672/968 chipset and Intel’s Atom 230 processor. The power consumption will be at most 22W and the computer is supposed to go on the back of LCD monitors or hidden elsewhere on the desk.

SiS Announces Atom-supportive SiS672/96/307DV Chipset, Drives Pegatron Ultra Slim PC
SiS today announced the SiS672/96/307DV chipset supporting the latest Intel Atom 230 CPU which has been adopted by PEGATRON to develop the Ultra Slim Atom NetTop project. SiS672 of low power consumption and fanless is equipped to bring Ultra Slim Atom NetTop into full play.
