ATi still hasn’t launched its dual-GPU technology CrossFire to the public and we are quite many that are very tensed to see what ATi’s equivalent to nVidia’s SLI-technology can do. That CrossFire has been delayed is bad enough but after nVidia’s very succesful launch of GeForce 7800 GTX the pressure has been building quite a lot. To give its CrossFire-technology a push ATi introduces a $100 discount for consumeners which buys a X8xx-graphic card with the required X8xx CrossFire Edition-card. Exactly how well the buyers will respond to this considering the performance of the 7800-series and even AT’s coming R520 remain to see, but lower prices are always welcome. Source: X-bit labs
