ATI FireGL V7350 is the latest card by ATI intended for the workstation market, FireGL is the company’s equivalent to NVIDIA’s Quadro series that is also intended for professional users. FireGL V7350 is based on ATI’s R520 architecture that can otherwise be found with its X1800 series for the consumer market and the similarities are more than one might think at first. Something that clearly separates V7350 from its desktop companions is its graphics memory though, a whopping 1GB GDDR3 memory has been installed ATI instead of the 512MB with the X1800 series’ top models. Other than that it’s not much that has changed making the 4-5 times higher price of the FireGL series a bit of a mystery.

But that’s the way it works with the workstation market and at X-bit Labs they’ve taken a closer look at ATI FireGL V7350 to see what you get from this huge investment at $1999. They compare it to NVIDIA’s equivalent, Quadro FX 4500, in a real battle of the titans.
