Bachus_anonym, moderator over at Xtremesystems.org posted a review some days ago, concerning extreme 2GB memory kits or modules actually. Using a Opteron 146 at 320*10 (3200MHz) and running a 183MHz divider on the UCCC memory, thus running them at 291MHz and a 166MHz divider on the CE-5 sticks running them at 267MHz. While the UCCC can run at a higher frequency, the Infineon can manage a lower frequency but much tighter timings. For those of you who are on the verge of buying new RAM and are considering a 2GB kit that’s got OC-capability, this might be a guide for you. Bachus_anonym used 18 different benchmarks and it’s really interesting to see which benchmarks benefits from a higher frequency and which ones that benefit from tighter timings. Enjoy!
