With the launch of Windows 8 and RT we can expect a wave of convertible computers, but it is still unclear what models will be released. Samsung will announce such a product at IFA this week and judging from everything it is a notebook with a detachable screen.

Convertibles and hybrids, all the same. Simply units that works as both notebooks and tablets, and will become a commodity with the launch of Microsoft’s coming operating system. Most manufacturers have something in the pipeline, but the one that has so far been seen the most is Asus Tablet 600, which follows the same concept as other Android tablets in the Transformer series.

Samsung presented a similar concept computer at Computex, but the concept has now matured into a product ready for mass markets. The company has released a teaser at Youtube and published a picture on Facebook. Looking at these it looks like a notebook with a detachable screen and on the back there is a small stylus available. It doesn’t say if the unit runs Windows 8, has a traditionell x86 processor or Windows RT and ARM. We will not be getting any wiser before IFA in Berlin though. NordicHardware will be there and report.
