That manufacturers push the limits of passive cooling happens with each generation, but doing so with the most powerful graphics card on the market is a bit unusual. Colorful has cooled a GTX 680 with passive heatsinks and calling it big is an understatement.

Passive cooled graphic cards are always in demand, but it is rare to see a creation like Colorful iGame GTX 680. The passive cooler takes up two expansion slots and is quite big, but there is room to expand. The specifications of the graphics card were not revealed, but we presume that GTX 680 runs at the stock frequencies 1006 MHz GPU and 6008 MHz on the 2 GB GDDR5 memory.

Those living in a warm climate or wants to overclock a passive graphics card, how crazy it may sound, you can mount a second cooler on the back of the graphics card. You simply attach six heatpipes that connects them. How efficient this is is hard to say, but with the second cooler the card will occupy at least five expansion slots.

In total the cooling has 20 heatpipes and not less than 200 aluminum fins. The graphics card is said to use an advanced VRM design that draws power from two 8-pin PCI Express connectors. The graphics card comes with three video outputs in the form of a Dual-Link DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort.

Colorful is considering the appeal of the new design, which means it may not launch. We assume that if it launches, Colorful iGame GTX 680 will only be available in select markets, which is a shame because it looks really cool.
