Thermalright has presented several new products at Computex and we have looked several of the new coolers, including Cyclone and the Ultra 120 successor Venomous X.

Some companies haven’t held back at Computex but presented loads of new
products, one of these is Thermalright. And the products are in the area in
which we know Thermalright does best: cooling. This includes cases, CPU coolers,
graphics card coolers and fans.

Thermalright’s Cyclone cooler

6 heatpipes

First out is Cyclone. A new massive piece shaped like a high cylinder where
special fan is lowered into the heatsink. Six heatpipes are used to move the
heat up to the 150x150mm heatsink. Cyclone measures L152 x W152 x H160 mm,
making it a quite big cooler.

Cyclone

It will fit on socket 1366/775/AM2/AM2+, but not with Core i5, Socket 1156,
for now. The fan is specified to operate at 2500 RPM generating about 35 dBA.
Not specifics were given as to how well it performs, but TR guarantees it is
better than Ultra-120.

Cyclone shrunk for smaller
PCs

The price will be around 60€ at launch, which is expected to happened just
days after Computex ends (and 1 month later), which will initially be in the USA
and Germany. There will be two versions of Cyclone, one bigger and one smaller
for HTPC users. The bigger one was described above. There might be plans for a
copper version of Cyclone, but Thermalright has put it on hold until it gets
some market response for the Cyclone cooler.

Venomous X with Ultra 120 vibes

Thermalright Venomous X

Another CPU cooler that will be released alongside of Cyclone is a creation
called Venomous X. It is an upgrade of Ultra 120 eXtreme that also fits socket
1366 and comes without fan. The thing makes it better than Ultra 120 eXtreme is
that it comes with a mirror finish contact surface and a V shaped cut-out for
improved airflow. Venomous X is just as big as Ultra 120 eXtreme and weighs
about as much, 785 gram, and has the same amount of heatpipes, six.

MUX-120 1156

For Core i5 there will be a cooler called MUX-120 1156 and it is a tower
coolers, like Ultra 120, but it sports four heatpipes instead of six; the same
height as the pictures, but not as wide which means it also weighs less 523
gram. It ships with fan and fan controller.

Arrow-14

All of you who loved IFX-14 (don’t blame you) but were sad to find out it was
too big for your case we have the perfect solution: Arrow-14. A slightly smaller
version but still with four heatpipes and the possibility of mounting up to
three 140mm fans. It mounts on Socket 1366/775/AM2/AM2+.

Ultra 120 eXtreme2 in development

Except from the products een above we found out that there is a new version
of Ultra 120 eXtreme coming. eXtreme2 will have the same base design but more
heatpipes, copper base and perhaps even flat contact surface. Today all are a
bit convex since also processors are shaped like so. Test with the new eXtreme2
model is happening as we speak inside Thermalright’s lab.

Thermalright had also brought several interesting cases, an upgraded version
of BoxOne and case called R1X, and a new graphics card cooler: Spitfire. We also
noticed its CPUAXP-140 cooler we’ve covered in previous reports. We hope to
update with some more pictures of these products later on.
