First of all we would like to welcome our new writer Robert Kihlberg to the crew. With Robert’s deep knowledge in cooling and overclocking this is one of many areas he will be covering. )E.g. he won the swedish championship in OC.) First up is a watercooling kit, size large.

The manufacturer behind the this kit is the wellknown Asetek that has also had a lot of success with its VapoChill-cooling (phase change).
Asetek WaterChill CPU Power Kit (triple rad) is the manufacturer’s highend package in watercooling and aimed for those who doesn’t want to take the step completly over to phase change, a golden middle way. With an efficient water block and ”triple radiator” with three 120mm fans the possibilities are there.

Robert has put the system to the test by cooling a Prescott-based Pentium 4-processor at 3.2GHz at both original and overclocked sppeds.

As the development of processors, graphics cards and motherboards advances, so does the requirement of cooling these components. Heat dissipation increases exponentially as the frequency increases and in spite of more and more advanced manufacturing processes to dampen this dissipation, the resulting wattage increases in the micro processors of today.”

To see how Asetek’s killerpackage performs and how much overclocking capability there is compared to regular air cooling read on here.
