Longhorn will according to Microsoft solve one of the biggest annoyances with today’s Window operating systems, namely the networking. MS has admitted that Windows XP hasn’t devlivered the functioanlity and ease of use that is necessary but it intend to fix this with Longhorn. Longhorn will among others support UWB (Ultra Wide Band) and a widely improved support for regular wireless networking, WiFi. Administrators will be able to configure and handle WiFi-networks. You are also suppose to get a better control of who and what units that are using the local network and be able to see the bandwidth available via wireless networking. We are without a doubt looking forward to this improved support for local networking but it would be nice to see this before 2006 and the launch of Longhorn.
