Intel will most likely launch a dual-core serverplatform this month. This is far from surprising news but that it will use the Pentium D-series as a foundation is. Intel will introduce a serverplatform with Pentium D paired with the new chipset ”Mukilteo”. Since Pentium D can’t work in pairs it is only single-cpu servers but with dual cores. Intel has not put Xeon on hold though but servers with dual-core Xeon-processors will show up during next year, with mulitple processors.
