Small preview imageIntegrated graphic circuits on mainboards aren’t exactly known for being fast but despite that there is a market for them not the least Intel’s GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) that by common man is known as one of the weakest circuits around. At Anandtech they’ve decided to compare Intel’s latest GMA-circuit, GMA 950, with ATI’s Radeon Xpress 200. They chosen to focus on games of today to see how integrated graphics circuits have anything to offer, and how they perform compared to ATi and nVidia’s low cost graphic cards.

It’s not really surprising how the integrated circuits perform, especially Intel GMA 950 that really has nothing to offer. We can only hope that ATI or NVIDIA will raise the bar for integrated graphic circuits. nVidia is rumoured to introduce new chipsets with integrated graphic circuits and we can only hope they’ve chosen to use a more powerful solution than today’s versions, since we all remember how well the nForce2 chipset performed.
